BACKGROUND: Pandora designs, manufactures and markets hand-finished and contemporary jewellery. Pandora jewellery is sold in more than 100 countries on six continents through approximately 7,900 points of sale, including more than 2,100 concept stores. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, Pandora employs more than 21,200 people worldwide of whom approximately 12,500 are located in Gemopolis, Thailand, where the company manufactures its jewellery.

OUR WORK: Our South Asian marketing team executed a print and digital campaign targeting Punjabi speaking consumers in Western Canada for this client. This work included media recommendations, copy-writing, graphics, translation, social media targeting, and reporting. For the digital campaign, we drove sales leads and conversions for a special mother’s day offer.

Background: Style Democracy is a retail event management company that specialises in warehouse sales and pop-up shops.
The company operates large-scale warehouse sales for the world’s largest clothing brands: Nike, Fred Perry, Lacoste, Puma, Nine West, La Senza amongst many others.

The Work: Sunflower has worked with this cutting-edge retail company in providing outreach to the South Asian, Persian, Filipino, and Chinese communities for warehouse sales held in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and other Canadian cities. In a recent campaign for Nordstrom’s spring sale, our Vancouver multicultural marketing agency executed a digital campaign on Facebook’s Audience Network. This included translation, graphic design, copy-editing, campaign execution, and reporting.

Seneca Niagra Casino & Hotel

Featuring 604 rooms and suites, this AAA Four-Diamond rated hotel is one the region’s premier destinations. The casino features 3,000 slots and over 80 table games, live poker, keno, a full-service spa, and flexible meeting facilities. Seneca Niagara plays host to honeymoons and family getaways.

OUR  WORK: Seneca Resort & Casino plays host to numerous accomplished musicians and stage acts, including stars in cultural markets such as Quang Dung and Bang Tam. Our Toronto multicultural marketing team assisted this client promote this headline event in the Vietnamese community throughout Southern Ontario and New York state. Our Canadian ethnic agency team handled translation work, media recommendations, graphic revisions, and plan execution.

Dignity Memorial

Dignity Memorial providers care for more than 500,000 families each year through a network of more than 1,800 funeral, cremation and cemetery providers in Canada and the United States.

Our Work: With the growth of Canada’s ethnic communities, the need has risen for services that are sensitive to the needs of different cultures. Our Toronto multicultural marketing team assisted Dignity Memorial reach out to the country’s Filipino community through an in-language social media campaign on and also an English print campaign. Our in-language work as a multicultural digital agency served to extend the solid reputation of this company from its mainstream roots to this community of New Canadians.

encorpBackground: Reduce, reuse, recycle: these are the guiding principles behind our household recycling programs and also for Encorp Pacific, the federally incorporated, not-for-profit corporation that provides beverage container management service across Canada.
Encorp’s mandate is to develop, manage and improve systems to recover used packaging and end-of-life products from consumers and ensure that they are properly recycled and not land-filled or incinerated.

Our Work: Our team targeted Encorp’s message to newer immigrants, many of whom hail from countries where recycling is non-existent or not practiced at the household level. For our recent South Asian campaign, for example, we provided copy-editing, translation, and media buying services.

United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW Alberta)

Background: UFCW Canada represents more than a quarter of a million Canadian workers and is one of Canada’s most experienced and respected unions, with a history that goes back to 1899. At the same time, we are one of Canada’s most youthful unions with more than 40 percent of UFCW Canada Members under the age of 30. UFCW is a democratic union in which members vote for their Local Union leaders, the bylaws that govern their Local Union, and their collective agreements.
UFCW Canada is backed up by the strength of UFCW International – one of North America’s largest private-sector unions with more than 1.3 million Members.

Our Work: Our Canadian multicultural marketing team assisted this client in its efforts to reach out to diverse communities in Alberta. A recent campaign for Diwali (the South Asian festival of light) included graphic design, translation, and media buying services.

The Kit

Featuring the smartest, sharpest style writing in Canada, the glossy pullout is available weekly in select copies of Toronto Star and via select distribution in Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver, and monthly through The Kit Chinese, Le Kit, and The Kit South Asian.

Our Work: Sunflower Media connects The Kit with Canada’s fashion forward Chinese consumers. We work in the country’s two largest Chinese markets: Vancouver and Toronto. Our team provides a number of services including translation, media buying, distribution, and administration in assisting this national brand grow its consumer base in this vibrant beauty market.

 

City of Surrey

Background: The city of Surrey, British Columbia is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Canada with nearly 500,000 residents. This population base is spread in clusters across a vast land area, covering over 350 square kilometres – over three times the magnitude of neighboring Vancouver. Given its large area and rapidly growing population, the City of Surrey along with the regional transit authority, Translink, have been seeking to implement a public transit solution that will serve the region for decades to come. The two parties are currently proposing a network of Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines and stations to help improve connectivity in the region.

Our Work: To determine the viability of the LRT proposal, the City of Surrey and Translink recently hosted a series of public consultations. Our multicultural marketing team assisted this process through execution of an outreach campaign to the South Asian community, one of the city’s most active diverse communities. We provided media buying services, translation, copy-editing, and graphic design on this project.

BC Chicken Marketing Board

Background: BC Chicken Marketing was the first poultry board created in Canada, its mandate being to monitor and regulate the production and marketing of chicken in British Columbia.
In recent years this role has grown in complexity with the introduction of the quota system for production and also given the increasingly global nature of trade.

The Work: Our multicultural marketing team has provided its ethnic advertising expertise to the BC Chicken Marketing Board on multiple campaigns. These have ranged from marketing locally grown Asian specialty chicken such as Silkie and free-run Taiwanese, to the region’s large Chinese community (nearly 1 million in population).
This campaign included execution and artwork creation for a wide range of mediums: TV, digital, print, billboard/ outdoor, and radio.
Aside from managing this expansive campaign, we also organised and developed original content for this client – these pieces ranged from web videos to photography to artwork for the various mediums listed above.

New Leaf Travel

Background: NewLeaf Travel is Canada’s new ultra-low-cost air travel company. Their low fares get you from here to there with the convenience of being able to add the extras you love, à-la-carte style. Most of the main routes are non-stop flights that aren’t currently offered by other companies. We want to spread the love to Canada’s smaller airports because of their laid back atmosphere, cheaper parking and awesome baggage handling. Plus, their lower fees keep more money in the bank for you.

Our Work: The introduction of New Leaf’s ultra-low rates into Canada’s highly priced airline fare sector has opened up travel opportunities for all Canadians, including recent immigrants. Our multicultural marketing team worked closely with New Leaf Travel to execute digital multicultural campaigns in Punjabi, and Tagalog on social media (Facebook Audience Network). Our team provided provided copy-editing, translation, graphic editing, and media buying services for multicultural execution.
