Background: One of Canada’s oldest private colleges, Sprott Shaw has featured their courses in a number of campaigns over many years that have targeted multicultural consumers in BC and across Canada.

These have crossed all platforms: print, web, radio, and TV.

Over this time period, Sprott Shaw has not only grown in the number of campuses established in Canada and overseas but also in the number of courses available for students.

The Work: Our team has worked across all media platforms in working with this long term client. This has encompassed the construction of campaign oriented websites and landing pages to organising radio and TV appearances to media buying across numerous communities in Canada. Our digital team has also assisted with the college’s search engine optimisation (SEO) initiatives.

BC Unclaimed Property

Background: The British Columbia Unclaimed Property Society (BCUPS) works with holders of unclaimed property to reunite rightful owners with their forgotten or unclaimed assets. The Society maintains a public database of dormant accounts and assets, and process eligible claims to reunite owners with their forgotten dollars. In 2015, BCUPS received close to $4 million in unclaimed property from companies and organizations and returned approximately $900,000 to claimants. Currently the BCUPS database lists over $130 million in unclaimed funds, including some dating as far back as 1859.

Our Work: Our Canadian ethnic marketing team executed campaigns in the Chinese, and South Asian markets. This multicultural marketing work included Chinese and Punjabi language translation, graphic design, translation, and media buying services for both print and digital platforms (Facebook Audience Network, and Instagram).

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU)

Background: Founded in 1981, Kwantlen, now Kwantlen Polytechnic University, has four campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia. KPU offers bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, certificates and citations in more than 120 programs. Almost 20,000 students annually attend courses at KPU campuses in Surrey, Richmond, Langley and Cloverdale. A large percentage of KPU’s student body is drawn from BC’s vibrant immigrant communities and also from Canada’s surging number of international students.

Our Work: Our Vancouver ethnic marketing team executed a campaign for KPU’s School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Our multicultural marketing work included South Asian (Punjabi) language translation, graphic design, translation, and media buying services for print outlets in Canada.

LV Logistics (Overwaitea Food Group)

Background: With a combined workforce of almost 650 employees , one of the largest in the Fraser Valley in BC, EV Logistics operates two distinct distribution centers. The company provides grocery distribution for one of Western Canada’s largest grocery retailers the Overwaitea Food Group. LV Logistics specialises in cold storage facilities as well as dry goods storage including products ranging from just-in-time produce, to locally-sourced health & beauty products as well as grocery items.

Our Work: Our team assisted this client in a recruitment drive for the holiday season. This Vancouver ethnic marketing campaign was focused on South Asian print and included a digital multicultural marketing option.

Minto Development

Today Minto has grown to include rental apartments, furnished suites, single-family homes, condominiums and commercial spaces with operations in Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, London and Florida, with a continued focus on providing outstanding service and meaningful contributions to our communities.

OUR WORK: Sunflower’s multicultural marketing team assisted Minto in reaching out to BC’s Chinese community. Florida’s retirement communities continue to grow and attract Canadians including retirees, tourists, and investors from Canada’s ethnic communities. Our Toronto multicultural marketing team assisted this client through ethnic media recommendations, and campaign execution.

Real Estate Council of BC (RECBC)

recbc_chineseBACKGROUND: The Real Estate Council of British Columbia (RECBC) is a regulatory agency established by the provincial government. Its mandate is to protect the public interest by enforcing the licensing and licensee conduct requirements of the Real Estate Services Act. The Council is responsible for licensing individuals and brokerages engaged in real estate sales, rental and strata property management.
The Council also enforces entry qualifications, investigates complaints against licensees and imposes disciplinary sanctions under the Act.

OUR WORK: Sunflower has worked with RECBC in its outreach and communication campaigns targeting the province’s ethnic communities. First generation Canadians are very active in the real estate market in Vancouver and throughout the province. Our Vancouver multicultural marketing team has assisted this client through ethnic media recommendation, outreach messaging, and also through booking advisories and notices for specific communities.

PC Urban Real Estate

pc-urbanBACKGROUND: ‘Property re-imagined’ means discovering redevelopment opportunities suitable for creative re-positioning. These construction projects can range from a retail center that has seen better days, a greenfield site ready for fresh development, or a new, mixed use project aligning retail with residential possibilities.
For example, this Vancouver based developer recently built the city’s first strata industrial business park in five years. The three-building, multi-level project replaced an aging light-manufacturing building on a five-acre plot near SW Marine and Oak St. The 55 small-bay strata properties range in size from 3,000 to 53,000 square feet.

OUR WORK: Our team provided worked with PC Urban to recommend a Chinese multicultural marketing plan. Our services included translation, graphic design, copy-editing, and media execution.

Canadian Labour Congress

CLC-imageBACKGROUND: The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) is the largest labour body in Canada. This umbrella organisation brings together dozens of national and international unions, provincial and territorial federations of labour and community-based labour councils to represent 3.3 million Canadian workers for more than 50 years. The Canadian Labour Congress advocates politically for policies and programs that improve the lives of all workers, such as the creation of better and more secure jobs, better public pension plans and retirement security, a stronger public health care system and affordable and accessible child care.

Our Work: The CLC has worked with the Canadian government to expand the coverage provided by the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP). This growth in the state plan counters the shortfall in middle-income retirement planning that is opening up as a result of disappearing corporate pensions. Our ethnic digital agency team worked with the Canadian Labour Congress to explain the impact of this legislative change to Canadian workers from various ethnic communities. We also provided multicultural marketing services through media placement in dozens of outlets across the country and including translations to over 10 languages.

Concord Brentwood

Our Work: We provided digital marketing for this project. In particular, our team handled graphic design, copy-editing, and translation to Punjabi and Tagalog languages of ad copy that ran on Facebook.  Engagement levels for these in-language campaigns yield stronger returns that typical English language versions.

Our Work: Our team executed a digital campaign via social media (Facebook) that targeted the Filipino market in the Lower Mainland of BC. The messaging was in Tagalog (Filipino). Our team provided digital execution services, along with graphic design, copy-editing, translation, and analytics.
