Greater Toronto Airport Authority

Background: The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) operates Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Located in Mississauga, Ontario, west of Toronto, Ontario, Pearson is Canada’s largest and busiest airport. The GTAA is the overarching administrative body that oversees the movement of approximately 40 million passengers per year. Recently, the GTAA completed a $4.4 billion redevelopment of Toronto Pearson from 1998 to 2008 to enable the airport to handle increases in traffic into the future.

Our Work: Our Toronto ethnic marketing team advised the client on outreach to the city’s Filipino market. We provided media bookings, graphic services, copy-editing, execution, and reporting for this GTA region focused campaign.

BC Transplant Society

Background: Every year, hundreds of people in British Columbia receive an organ transplant at one of the province’s three transplant hospitals. But the need for organ transplants is growing as our population ages and more people are affected by diseases that affect organs. Unfortunately, many people pass away while awaiting a transplant. Working in collaboration with the regional health authorities and provincial partners, BC Transplant (BCT) is focused on increasing the availability of organs for transplantation in British Columbia. BC Transplant oversees all aspects of organ donation and transplant across BC. This organisation also manages the BC Organ Donor Registry.

Our Work: We assisted BC Transplant by executing a Chinese language campaign. Our Vancouver multicultural advertising team recommended a print and digital campaign – the latter was mobile focused and utilised E-newsletter and WeChat mediums. We provided copy-writing in Simplified Chinese for the WeChat article as well media buying, and reporting for the overall campaign.

TD Canada Trust

Background:  TD Canada Trust is the personal, small business and commercial banking operation of the Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) in Canada. TD Canada Trust offers a range of financial services and products to more than 10 million Canadian customers through more than 1,100 branches and 2,600 “Green Machine” ATM’s. In addition to the countrywide network of TD branches and ATM’s in Canada, the bank has a network of mobile mortgage specialists, financial planners, private bankers, investment advisors, and portfolio managers.

Our Work: When a new TD branch opened in Surrey, BC – one of Canada’s most diverse municipalities – our Vancouver multicultural marketing team provided their expertise to assist with the launch event. We provided media buying and recommendation services for this campaign that targeted the South Asian community in the Surrey region.

City of Calgary

Background: Located in the foothills of the Rockies, Calgary is one of Canada’s most dynamic urban centres. This city of 1.5 million people is the commercial capital of Alberta and its thriving energy sector, as well as home to a number of other head offices for Canadian companies or their multinational affiliates. The annual Calgary Stampede, held in the city since 1886, is considered ‘the greatest outdoor show on earth’ and draws tens of thousands to its summer showcase events. In 1988, Calgary became the first Canadian city to host the Winter Olympic Games. Calgary has been consistently recognized for its high quality of life. Economist Intelligence Unit analysts have ranked Calgary as the 5th most livable city in the world in 2017 for the 8th consecutive year.

Our Work: Our multicultural marketing team has worked on a number of campaigns to assist the City of Calgary disseminate its messaging , ranging from registering rental suites in homes to disclosing details about the annual city budget. We have connected the City with various ethnic communities such as Filipino, Punjabi, Pakistani, and others. Our Calgary ethnic marketing team has provided translation, copy recommendations, graphic design, media buying, and reporting services for this client.

 

Mobility Pricing Independent Commission

Background: Commuters in the Greater Vancouver Regional District are ailing from delays that seem to more severe each year. Road congestion hurts everyone in the Lower Mainland, whether through time lost for productive pursuits, to time which could be better spent with loved ones. Translink, as the statutory authority responsible for the regional transportation network of Metro Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, including public transport, major roads and bridges, is working to find a solution that will simultaneously keep drivers moving on open roads while growing the region’s public transit infrastructure.

The Work:
 Our Vancouver multicultural marketing team worked with the client to execute a multi-language campaign in print and digital mediums for a series of public consultations held on traffic decongestion strategies. This is an initiative of the Mobility Pricing Independent Commission. Our Vancouver ethnic agency executed campaigns in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Punjabi, each of which included media recommendations, graphics, translation, demographic targeting, and reporting.

The Work: The Lower Mainland of BC has one of the most diverse demographics in the whole of North America. Our Vancouver ethnic marketing team worked closely with Polygon through content development, artwork editing, and media buying for the Indo-Canadian home buying market in the municipality of Surrey and other surrounding Fraser Valley regions.

Philippine Airlines

BACKGROUND: With it main hub in Manila, Philippine Airlines flies to 31 destinations in the Philippines and 41 overseas destinations in Southeast Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Oceania, North America and Europe. It is one of Asia’s biggest airline carriers with over 7,000 people employed worldwide.

OUR WORK: When Philippine Airlines launched its new international non-stop service between Manila and Toronto, Sunflower Media’s Toronto ethnic marketing team provided our expertise of Canada’s multicultural marketing landscape via media recommendations. This campaign ran in Ontario and Quebec (in the Toronto and Montreal markets) and targeted the Filipino community.

Minerva Research Labs

Background: Nutricosmetics is a growing sector of the beauty and wellness industry. Minerva is a leading edge company in this field. Earlier this year in March 2017, this multinational company launched Gold Collagen, a new generation skincare solution that works from within to promote beautiful and younger looking skin. This nutricosmetic is a liquid beauty supplement that contains collagen, anti-oxidants and other active ingredients to nourish and care for the skin.

Avison Young

Background: Avison Young is one of the world’s fastest-growing commercial real estate firms. Headquartered in Toronto, this global firm now has over 80 offices and over 100 million square feet of space under property management.  In 2017, the company was named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the sixth year running by Deloitte.

Our Work: Southeast Calgary’s new XXXX commercial development has XXX introduced XXX units into Calgary’s commercial market. 
Our Canadian ethnic marketing team created a campaign to market these units to Alberta’s entrepreneurial South Asian community. This work included translating content, copy recommendations, graphic design, media booking & execution, and reporting.

Trail Appliances

Background: Founded in 1974, Trail Appliances is one of Canada’s largest independent appliance retailers with 15 stores in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Trail Appliances is regularly recognized with both consumer and industry awards including the Consumers Choice Award for the past 13 years. Trail Appliances employs over 600 employees throughout Western Canada.

Our Work: Our Filipino marketing and Punjabi marketing teams have worked with this client to produce print and digital campaign targeting Filipino and South Asian households. Execution includes copywriting/ translation of Tagalog and Punjabi landing pages, social ads, and programmatic banners. In addition we have provided strategy guidance, graphic design, DSP buying, metrics and reporting.
