BACKGROUND: The Calgary Stampede has been called the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth and for good reason. Over one million people attend the July extravaganza which features bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, tie down roping, saddle bronc, bareback riding and of course pancake breakfasts and stampede parties. The Stampede is a not-for-profit community organization that preserves and celebrates Canada’s western heritage, cultures and community spirit.
Our Work: With the diversification of Canada’s population, the Stampede is working to attract New Canadians to its various events such as Aggie Days. Our team provided provided copy-editing, translation, graphic design, and media buying services for multicultural campaigns on behalf of the Stampede.
Background: The BC Renal Agency (BCRA) works to improve kidney patient quality of life and outcomes. Using the latest research and collective knowledge of the kidney care community, we address the challenge of kidney disease by improving early diagnosis and treatment, and educating British Columbians about the risks and signs of kidney disease. BCRA also ensures consistent and accurate communication about kidney care with the BC Ministry of Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and BC’s regional health authorities.
Our work: March is awareness month for kidney health. Our team worked with the BC Renal Agency to share its messaging with the Chinese and South Asian communities in BC. We provided copy-editing, translation, graphics, and media-buying services both for print and online.
Background: ‘The Best or Nothing’- Mercedes-Benz truly is German engineering unparalleled. The German carmaker is one of the top 10 most recognised brands around the globe with divisions on every continent. A division of the German company Daimler AG, Mercedes Benz is known for luxury vehicles, buses, coaches, and trucks. The brand name first appeared in 1926 under Daimler-Benz, but traces its origins to Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft’s 1901 Mercedes and to Karl Benz’s 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen, which is widely regarded as the first gasoline powered automobile. The company is headquartered in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Our work: A leader in its industry, Mercedes Canada also works on the cutting edge when it comes to marketing its brand. Our team worked with the company to execute digital campaigns targeting affluent Chinese and South Asian consumers through digital platforms WeChat and Facebook. Our team provided a number of services including translation into Chinese and Punjabi, the development of web landing pages, copy-editing services, graphic design, analytics, and, of course, overall execution.

OUR WORK: In some Asian cultures, the Northern Lights are truly a magical phenomenon. In Chinese tradition, for example, a child conceived under the Northern Lights, is said to be blessed with good fortune given the auspicious solar activity. Our team executed a Chinese New Year multicultural marketing campaign on print and digital platforms. Our services included translation, graphic design, and media recommendations & execution.
Background: Bucci is a 3rd generation development company focused on building in Western Canada. The company’s philosophy believes home should support the needs of its homeowner by elegantly falling to the background as the excitement and comforts of everyday life play out.
Our Work: Our team worked closely with the client and their advertising agency of record to execute a successful launch of the Radius development in Calgary, Alberta.

Background: Developed by Austria’s Swarovski family, Sparkling Hill is considered the premier European styled wellness resort in North America. Over three million individual crystals adorn Sparkling Hill resort, which itself in turn is immaculately carved – like a Swarovski gemstone – into the granite apex of a mountain overlooking Okanagan Lake. The 149 room resort provides a panorama of the north end of Okanagan Lake and the Monashee Mountains that ripple into horizon.
Our Work: Through a series of strategically written and placed editorials, we branded the resort to BC’s upper-end Chinese market. Our team worked closely with the staff and management at Sparkling Hill in crafting the editorial content and then with our Chinese translators to convey the elite status, and unique steam and sauna-oriented health treatments of this resort.
Background: With a total population of almost 3 million people, Vancouver and its surrounding municipalities constitute the Metro Vancouver region. The population in Western Canada’s largest city as as diverse as any in the world, with over half of residents not born in the city and an overall population of visible minorities comprising more than 50% of the total population.
Our Work: Environmental issues are at the forefront for city residents – these include limiting air pollution, managing waste water treatment, and the current hot topic spreading the use of composting organic waste versus sending to landfills. Metro Vancouver’s Green Bin program is intended to help city residents adapt new composting policies. Our team assisted the public organisation with a campaign targeting the South Asian community in the municipality of Surrey.
Background: Young families and new immigrants are moving north to Edmonton, Alberta. Centered in the province’s oil patch, the city has experience an economy boom in recent years and its long term future looks bright. Companies like Beaverbrook have been building in the city for 20+ years and laying the foundation for its current growth.
Our Work: Southeast Edmonton is one of the neighbourhoods in the city which is seeing the most rapid growth.
Our team worked with the client to market its project, The Hills at Charlesworth, to Filipino families in Alberta.
This campaign showcased the development’s range of housing from single family dwellings and duplexes to townhomes.
Background: One of the largest comprehensive universities in Western Canada, University of Regina has over 12,000 part-time and full-time enrolled students. Famous alumnus include Canada’s former finance minister Ralph Goodale, award-winning novelist Guy Vanderhaeghe, and journalist Pamela Wallin.
Our Work: The university has grown considerably in the past number of years as its enrollment has swelled with students from across the Prairie provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba). Sunflower assisted the university plan, and execute a multicultural campaign in Alberta which targeted potential Filipino, Indian, and Chinese students.
Background: This US based cruise-ship company was made famous by The Love Boat in the 1970’s.
Since then has grown into one of the world’s largest cruising companies. The “little cruise line that could” has evolved into a cruise industry giant.
Beginning with a 6,000-ton converted ferry chartered from the Canadian Pacific Railway, Princess now has 16 ships sailing the globe offering approximately 100 itineraries that range from one to 100+ days and visit more than 300 ports.
Our Work: Our team helped the cruise liner in its recruitment drive to find Mandarin speaking staff with experience in hosting large groups, coordinating activities or serving as MC’s. We provided copy-editing, graphic, and translation services for the BC regional search.
