BC Centre for Disease Control

BACKGROUND: The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) is the provincial body dedicated to improving public health. The BCCDC monitors the health of the population, designs and supports public health programs to prevent illness, protects against health risks, and promotes the well-being of people living in B.C.

OUR WORK: Our multicultural outreach team has assisted the BCCDC engage with diverse households on messages ranging from antibiotic use to medication management. In addition to digital media planning, and execution, our team provided ad-ops services of copywriting, translation, graphic design, and reporting.

BC Cancer Agency

BACKGROUND: BC Cancer Agency provides a comprehensive cancer control program for residents of BC. The organisation’s mandate includes the full spectrum of cancer care, ranging from prevention to screening and diagnosis to treatment, and research. Each of BC Cancer’s centres delivers cancer treatment based on provincial standards and guidelines established by BC Cancer.

OUR WORK: Sunflower Media’s multicultural marketing team worked with BCCA on a province-wide alcohol moderation campaign. The campaign targeted a broad population of those who consumed alcohol on a weekly basis in order to advance a message of the importance of moderation. Our digital planning team used geofencing and location targeting to build custom audiences for this campaign and our work included ad-ops services and reporting.

Royal Conservatory of Music

BACKGROUND: Founded in 1886, the Royal Conservatory of Music develops human potential through leadership in music and the arts. The RCM Certificate Program provides a recognized standard of musical achievement through an effectively sequenced system of study and individual student assessments, from preparatory to advanced levels. Over the course of nearly a century and a half, the Royal Conservatory has helped train more than five million alumni including famous musicians such as Glenn Gould, Oscar Peterson, Diana Krall, and others.

OUR WORK: Sunflower Media’s multicultural marketing team worked with RCM to execute its annual summer and fall enrollment campaign. Our Chinese marketing team provided omnichannel media planning, buying, and execution services, including WeChat ad copy, graphic design, and layout services.

BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC)

BACKGROUND: British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) is the provincial body overseeing all gaming associated activity – lottery, casinos, and sports-betting – in the province. BCLC’s mandate is to ensure all gaming activity in the province is conducted in a fair and transparent manner. The corporation also has a mandate to re-distribute funds back to numerous public events and causes each year.

OUR WORK: Sunflower Media’s WeChat marketing team worked with this client to help raise awareness among the Chinese market of local casino gaming services. We provided WeChat media planning, buying, and execution services. Our WeChat agency team also composed WeChat story and ad copy, graphic design, and layout services that adhered to the Chinese platform’s regulations.

Canuck Place

BACKGROUND: Canuck Place is a children’s hospice and community-based facility set in the heart of Vancouver. Care staff at this facility care for children aged 0 to 19 who have progressive, life-threatening illnesses. Canuck Place offers family support, respite care, management of pain and symptoms, end-of-life care, and grief and bereavement counselling.

OUR WORK: Canuck Place is a one-of-a-kind care facility that provides palliative care to children. Our Canadian multicultural agency worked with the team at Canuck Place on its initiatives such as its annual Light A Life campaign to attract donors. We provided media planning, buying, execution as well as ad-ops services like copywriting, translation, and graphic design to help spread the life affirming mission of this unique facility among diverse Canadians.

Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA)

BACKGROUND: The Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) is an Alberta provincial agency that engages with patients, families, and service providers from across healthcare and academia in order improve patient safety, person-centred care, and health service quality. HQCA values engagement with Albertans of all backgrounds and, where possible, relies on empirical data to evaluate, review, and analyze information objectively, from all relevant healthcare sources.

OUR WORK: It is well established that seniors are one of the most vulnerable cohorts when it comes to patient care. Within this demographic, seniors from diverse communities are even more at risk given they may have internalised cultural expectations on how active a role they can take in their own care. Our ethnic marketing team assisted this client with omni-channel and tactic campaigns to reach seniors and their caregivers from Alberta’s diverse communities. Our work included media planning, buying, execution, and reporting, as well as strategy advisement.

Gulf & Fraser Credit Union (G&F)

BACKGROUND: Operating as Gulf & Fraser or G&F, Gulf and Fraser Fishermen’s Credit Union is a member-owned financial institution in Canada.  The history of G&F goes back to 1940 and the credit union’s servi ces include borrowing, investments and financial planning.

OUR WORK: Our multicultural marketing team has worked with this brand to assist its efforts in engaging with New Canadians and immigrant households, particularly in areas serviced by its brick-and-mortar locations. For these campaigns we have employed both traditional and digital media, including executing campaigns on Chinese platforms such as WeChat.

Imagine Wireless (Fido)

BACKGROUND: Imagine Wireless is one of Western Canada’s largest Rogers authorized dealerships. The chain has nine retail locations across Calgary, Banff, and Canmore and six corporate locations across Canada. The company specialises in providing wireless mobile voice and data solutions, business telecom solutions and satellite solutions.

OUR WORK: Our WeChat marketing team assisted this client to execute WeChat campaigns in Western Canada. For these promotional campaigns we wrote article copy and created WeChat layouts. We also assisted with banners, media planning, execution, and reporting & metrics.

Thompson Rivers University

Background: Founded over fifty years ago, TRU, as it is commonly called, is one of British Columbia’s major universities. It is based in the interior city of Kamloops and has grown to a base of over 10,000 students. Aside from offering undergraduate, graduate, and vocational degrees, TRU also offers law and nursing degrees.

The Work: Our South Asian, Chinese, and multicultural marketing teams have worked with this client to attract students from the domestic Canadian market.
